{"id":435,"date":"2023-09-17T21:28:36","date_gmt":"2023-09-17T21:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hunzavalley.org\/gcb-opens-new-online-license-application-portal\/"},"modified":"2023-09-17T21:28:36","modified_gmt":"2023-09-17T21:28:36","slug":"gcb-opens-new-online-license-application-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hunzavalley.org\/gcb-opens-new-online-license-application-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"GCB opens new online license application portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Curacao Gaming Control Board (GCB), Curacao&#8217;s gaming regulator, has taken an important step in regulating the country&#8217;s online gaming by officially opening the application process for operators seeking new online gaming licenses.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Latest online portal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-19597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.casinonewsdaily.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/curacao_opens_licence_application_portal_-300x200.jpg?x29555\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"\/><\/noscript>Interested operators can access it from Friday, September 1st <strong>GCB recently launched an online portal<\/strong>that provides guidance to new applicants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinonewsdaily.com\/blog\/2023\/07\/13\/curacao-online-casino-license-changes-coming-end-of-summer\">Approval process<\/a>.  Once inside, they can fill out a license application form and view instructions and downloads to ensure everything goes smoothly.  Additionally, the submission of final applications will begin in November this year.<\/p>\n<p>The portal is open not only to newer operators, but also to those who already own it <strong>Sublicenses <\/strong>existing.  However, these operators can work without any obstacles <em>\u201cunder their current agreements.\u201d <\/em>In addition, the recent opening of the portal represents preparation for this <strong>National Gambling Regulation (LOK)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>However, this was not the case in the most recent licensing process <em>\u201cReforms but expands the National Regulation on Offshore Gambling, the existing legislation in Cura\u00e7ao.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Temporary license<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Once final application submissions close in late November, those formally accepted for a license will receive one <strong>temporary license <\/strong>the above-mentioned regulatory authority.  In addition, it is subject to the adoption of revised policies and procedures for a period of 6 months from issuance.<\/p>\n<p>However, the most important advantage is that those operators who have officially obtained the above-mentioned license do not need to reapply under the above-mentioned LOK, as their position remains unchanged <em>\u201ctransferred to the new authority.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>LOK changes the existing regulatory framework for online gambling<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The goal of LOK is <strong>Updating and simplifying the regulatory framework <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinonewsdaily.com\/online-casinos\/\">online gambling<\/a>This makes it one of the best standards and practices in the world.  In addition, the latest licensing requirements, enhanced oversight to ensure the continued fairness and integrity of the online gaming segment in Cura\u00e7ao, and compliance measures will be introduced.  In addition, this new law will undoubtedly be <em>\u201cmonumental for the market\u201d, <\/em>although it was once defined as <em>\u201cpassive in the sense of regulation.\u201d <\/em>In this context, after noting that the latest and updated licensing regulations could lead to the displacement of excise operators from the region, the Minister of Finance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casinonewsdaily.com\/blog\/2022\/07\/14\/curacao-passes-legislation-on-gambling-regulation-reform\">Cura\u00e7ao<\/a>Javier Silvania commented on this <em>\u201cI didn\u2019t see any problem with that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is because the country&#8217;s excise law requires operators to apply for 1 out of 4 <em>\u201cexisting master licensees\u201d <\/em>In order to obtain a sublicense, holders of previous sublicenses have a period of three months after the entry into force of the LOC to submit a new application to the Regulatory Authority to obtain a sublicense <em>\u201cdirect operator license.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Regarding the details of the new licensing process, Sixi\u00e8nne Jansen, legal advisor to the Ministry of Finance of Cura\u00e7ao, said at iGB L!VE in July: <em>\u201cThe application process consists of three forms.  Each form requires appropriate supporting documentation.  The first is an online gaming application in which the applicant presents business forecasts and strategic goals.  The second is a personal statement with detailed information about the key figures in the company.  A source of funds review is conducted for all parties who have more than 10% control of the company.
